Background

Education:

-PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa's faculty of Education (Health Professions Education Concentration)

-MSc in Physiotherapy completed in 2016 at Dalhousie University

-Honours BSc in Human Kinetics completed in 2014 at the University of Ottawa

I have also taken many courses and trainings relating to chronic pain, cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, aquatic therapy etc. In addition, I became a certified pilates therapist (reformer) in 2025, and I became a yoga instructor in 2024 (with additional training in trauma-informed program delivery as well as yoga for children).

I have been working in the public healthcare system since graduation (2016), predominantly at Children's hospitals in Ottawa and Halifax (with some work in hospitals serving adults as well)! Over the years, I have provided inpatient care (post surgery/traumatic injury, including support with cardiorespiratory physiotherapy), outpatient orthopaedics care, pre-operative care, chronic pain related care, and most recently: home and community care (mainly in school environments).

I am honoured to currently (as of January 2026) hold the position of Professional Practice Leader for CHEO's physiotherapy team.

Inspiration

I had the honour of taking a "Transformational Leadership" course at the University of Ottawa, and it truly inspired me. In addition, I learned valuable skills and information through a "Technology and Health Professions Education" course. These courses pushed me outside of my comfort zone into a business I'm very passionate about (but would not have otherwise started). I am so excited to put my heart into the work of Beyond, Play, Move, and hope to make a difference in our community.
